What Is RaiseRight (formerly ShopWithScrip)?

The easiest fundraiser you will ever do! When you purchase RaiseRight, you’re buying gift cards and eCards that are used just like cash, for places that you’re already spending your money, but you’re also getting a rebate. You can use RaiseRight to purchase everyday expenses like groceries, clothing, gasoline, coffee, and other essentials. With more than 700 participating retailers, you are bound to find cards for places where you are already shopping. And with every purchase, you earn revenue for the fundraising account of your favorite band student or, if you prefer, the Band’s General Fund to help with instrument repair costs, purchases of replacement instruments, and many other needs.

Get Started Today

    1. Go to www.RaiseRight.com to sign up.
    2. Click “Sign Up” and then under “Join a Scrip Program” enter Waseca Marching Jays RaiseRight enrollment code:  6DFIYQM3ER3I  Do not try to order until you have completed the next steps.
    3. Click “Account” (on the top) and then “Settings” and “Payment Options” to set up your bank account and enroll in ACH electronic payment (we ONLY process orders using direct payment from bank accounts or credit card, but there is a higher fee for credit card use – we do not accept pay by check orders; they will be canceled).

In order for proceeds from your purchases to be added to your student’s band account, please email your information to bandscrip@wasecabands.org with your Raise Right Account name along with which student the proceeds should go towards.

How do I order plastic cards?   At this time, we are only offering ship to home.   You can order the card and have it shipped to your home address for a small fee.   There is a benefit to ordering multiple at once to save shipping costs.   A lot of the plastic cards are refillable meaning you will only need to order them one time, and then add funds as you need.

Do the cards expire?   No.

How much money will I make?

It depends on how much RaiseRight you use and which cards you buy. Some retailers have 2% rebates, others go as high as 16%. Examples of current rebate amounts by retailer:

2–3% – Target, Walmart, Amazon.com, Shell, Menards, Toys R Us, Whole Foods, DQ, ShopKo.

4% – Cub, Kwik Trip, Kohl’s, The Home Depot, Burger King, Holiday Station stores, Wendy’s, Best Buy, PetSmart.

7–9% – Buffalo Wild Wings, Barnes & Noble, Starbucks, Panera, AMC Theaters, Pizza Hut, Zappos, Noodles.

10% + – Cabela’s, Chili’s, Macy’s, Bath & Body Works, American Eagle, Old Navy, Nike, Chipotle, 1-800-Flowers.

There are also bonus days where you can earn higher than normal rebates when you purchase during their bonus time frame.

Money can add up if used regularly during the years before your student’s trip year.   Here is a small example:

Groceries $400/mo at Walmart: $12/mo x 12 months x 2 years: $288

Gas $100/mo at Caseys or Kwik Trip:  $4/mo x 12 months x 2 years $96

Clothes $200/year at Kohls $14/year  $28

Out to eat $50/mo x 12 months x 2 years $48

Presents $200/year $14/year $28

If you bought RaiseRight cards for only the purchases above, you would earn $488 towards your trip just by buying gift cards for some of your household purchases!   The amounts above are low averages so the earning potential can be significant!

My student’s grandparents want to help fundraise but live out of town. Any ideas?

Sure! Any family or friends who want to help support your child can use RaiseRight just by following the same sign-up process you did (creating a RaiseRight account with our band’s enrollment code, setting up their bank account, and signing the waiver), and their rebates will be credited to your student. There are dozens of reloadable cards and hundreds of national retailers that offer instant ecards (ScripNow) that they can print and use wherever they are, including:

Target Best Buy Amazon.com Buffalo Wild Wings

Barnes & Noble Chipotle Starbuck’s Bed Bath & Beyond

Applebee’s Home Depot Pizza Hut CVS Pharmacy

Walmart iTunes Pottery Barn JC Penney

Kohl’s PetCo Stub Hub Staples

Zappos GameStop Kmart Groupon.com

I bought a Starbuck’s card at Starbuck’s. Can I reload it with RaiseRight?

No. All reloadable cards must be purchased directly from RaiseRight the first time. RaiseRight keeps track of the serial numbers on cards they sell and will only allow reloads to cards purchased originally through their program.

What’s with the 29-cent charge?

RaiseRight charges a 29-cent processing fee per order paid from your bank account, no matter how big or small the order is.

Is there a Mobile app?

Yes, there is a Mobile app called RaiseRight.  You can order right from the app and if you order e-cards, it will store all your e-cards in a wallet, so you don’t have to keep track of the emails or print the emails to use the e-cards, you can just pull up the card from the app on your phone!

I have 2 kids in band but only 1 RaiseRight account. How do I raise funds for both?   The funds will be direct deposited to one students account, but you can contact Waseca Band Boosters to transfer funds if necessary.   Another option is to have each parent set up an account and have them go different students.

My student is graduating but I’d like to continue supporting the band. Can I still do RaiseRight?

Absolutely! We have set up a Band General Fund for this very purpose, and we appreciate every contribution you’re willing to make. At the end of the year, the total amount of your donation to the band is fully tax deductible under sections 170(f)(8) and 170(f)(17) of the IRS Code (see Item 1 on the Waiver Form).

General Rules:

1) RaiseRight rebates are shared 100% with a student account or the General Band Fund as you indicate with the coordinator. RaiseRight rebates deposited in a student account are neither taxable nor tax deductible (IRS PLR-118535-09). RaiseRight rebates deposited in the General Band Fund are fully tax deductible and will be acknowledged under sections 170(f)(8) and 170(f)(17) of the IRS Code.

2) All RaiseRight ordering is done online using direct pay from your bank account.

3) Any payment returned for non-sufficient funds (NSF) will incur a $30 fee payable to Waseca Band Boosters. We reserve the right to close a RaiseRight account after two NSF occurrences.

4) RaiseRight certificates are not returnable, except directly to RaiseRight following their strict guidelines.

5) RaiseRight certificates are the same as cash and should be handled accordingly. Waseca Marching Jays will not be responsible for certificates that are lost, stolen, or misplaced while in your possession.
